This special event is a trade fair, international conference, and B2B, combined with a big awareness program on bringing organics together with millets. This is organized by the State/Province of Karnataka in the south of India, together with the International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA) as the knowledge partner and co-organizer. Karnataka is India’s leading state in the promotion and support of organic farmers; and ICCOA is India’s leading interface organization working across India and away since 2004.
This international trade fair is organized to showcase the potential and opportunities existing in organic products and millets not only in Karnataka but across India as well. The emphasis is to create market linkages between producers and marketers with the ultimate aim of significantly improving farmers’ income from organic farming and from growing millets in less-endowed regions, with less irrigation and without any chemical inputs.
Karnataka was always a pioneer in organic agriculture and agribusiness; and lately it also took a lead in the millets revolution. Bengaluru has emerged as the Organic hub of India with over 160 exclusive Organic Outlets, more than 400 corporate Retail Outlets and 8-9 exclusive Organic Restaurants.
To popularise millets and organic foods, and to help farmers get access to high end markets and better realization from farming, this event is playing a big role as it connects farmers and its federation/collectives directly to buyers and companies.
Through a hi-quality exhibition of Organic Products and Millets, Buyer-Seller Meet, International Conference and Consumer Connect Programmes, this international event provides an excellent opportunity to the marketers including importers, food processors, technology providers, equipment manufacturers and other value chain players including certification bodies, quality labs, inspection services etc. in the field of Organics, Sustainability, Fair-trade, etc to showcase their products, services and utilities.
